Hello, my name is Jason Bulter, I will be coming and teaching a class on role theory and role method on drama therapy. role method is devised by a drama therapist named Robert Landy at new york university. Robert and I worked together, and we also co-author of a chapter about assessment in role method. I goanna be coming and teaching about this approach to drama therapy. Within the role method, we look at the individual as a collection of roles that they play in their lives. And so within the role method, we explore individuals’ role system and role repertoire to see what roles they are playing well and are helping them, and we also explore to see what kind of role may be get in their way, causing their problem, or may be absent from their role system. Within the workshop, we goanna talk about the basic ideas and concept of role method and role theory through doing varies experiential techniques and methods. We also will look at how to use role theory and role method in therapeutic setting, ant how to use it as assessment tool. We will look at two assessment tools within role method, one is called role profile cards, and the other is called tell a story. Those who attend in this workshop will gain a great understand in role method as a method to treatment. And also have a better understanding about concepts and ideas about roles within life and how those can be used to help themselves and the other people that they are working with. It’s goanna be a fun class. I am look forward to explore varies stages of role method with you. And to explore varies new roles and role types that we get to create, and expend together.
